Our Story

What’s in a Name?

I was surprised to learn the word “arcable” didn’t exist. As I pondered names for our budding production company, none captured the spirit of what we intended to do like arcable. Like anything, I believe names hold power. They tell us the history of a thing, the love that went into creating that thing, even the journey that made that thing what it is. I wanted the name of our company to represent all of our journeys — yours included. In arcable, I had a chance to do more than define a term, I could create it.

Here’s the etymology of arcable (ärk-ā-bəl). As defined by Merriam-Webster… ARC = A continuous progression or line of development. ABLE = Having sufficient power or skill to do something.

Arcable (adj.) is one’s ability to grow, evolve, and expand. It is one’s commitment to be better than the current version of themselves. It is embracing the truth that we are all master-builders, as one teacher told me. We are, in fact, creators of whatever reality we believe we deserve. We create that reality everyday. Don’t believe me? Try not using “I am…” the next time someone asks how you’re feeling.

When we use “I am,” we draw on the infinite organizing power of the universe. We tap into an infinite force that brings our desires into fruition. I am… is a proclamation, an invitation to have more of the same. Arcable reminds us of this truth.

And yes, it’s trademarked for those wondering. :)
